Saudi Arabia launches Road to Makkah 2022 for Pakistan
The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia has launched the “Road to Makkah” initiative for the year 2022 to facilitate Hajj pilgrims belonging to Pakistan and five other countries after much anticipation.
The initiative which also includes Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco and Bangladesh this year was first launched in 2019, PTV World reported.
In an official statement, the Saudi ministry said the initiative aims to receive pilgrims and facilitate their procedures from their country.
He further said that during a meeting on Hajj 2022 under the project, Religious Affairs Minister Mufti Abdul Shakoor and Saudi Arabian Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed al-Maliki expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. taken for pilgrims at Islamabad airport.

The public broadcaster quoted the Saudi Gazette as saying that the initiative begins with the issuance of the visa electronically and the taking of vital characteristics, followed by passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after the verification of health requirements.
The procedure includes coding and sorting luggage to be sent to their place of residence in the kingdom.
Upon arrival, he added, the pilgrims will go directly to buses to take them to their places of residence in Mecca and Medina with designated paths while the authorities on duty will deliver their luggage to their places of residence. .
He concluded by saying that the ministry is implementing the initiative in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, Civil Aviation and Zakat, Tax and Customs.
