Liquidity Wines has big winter plans featuring brunch, wine and art – Think Local

South Okanagan wines never cease to be wonderful in winter, which is why Liquidity Wines is leading the charge in making the region a four-season destination for wine, food and art lovers.

Okanagan Falls Vineyard, located in the heart of the wine country, is going all out this winter, making it a staple on everyone’s calendar. Liquidity is all about the full sensory experience: elegant wines, cutting-edge art installations, and locally inspired and picked dishes. Everything takes place in one of the most beautiful places in the valley.

Liquidity will kick things off on Saturday night when it hosts the first of what will be several art-themed dinners and art exhibitions this winter. “Fred Herzog: Photos & Plates” will feature nostalgic dishes from the 1950s and 1960s, when Herzog was one of the first photographers to really focus on color in the photos he took on the streets of his home. hometown of Vancouver.

Liquidity is currently showcasing Herzog’s work, courtesy of Vancouver’s Equinox Gallery, so the theme of the first art-inspired dinner was obvious.

“I thought it would be fun to cook a 1950s inspired dinner,” said Liquidity Executive Chef Phil Tees. “A lot of his work is black and gray with pops of color, so it’s kind of the visual we use for food as well.

“These are all cool ’50s recipes we’ve reinvented, from ants on a log to Wellington ribs, baked Alaska for dessert, Waldorf salad.

“So it’s going to be all those rejuvenated classics of the way things are done these days. It’s gonna be really, really cool.

The gallery welcome reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a four-course dinner with wines at 6 p.m.

“Liquidity has a great synergy between art, wine and now food,” says Tees. “So our goal was to create these themed dinners where we showcase an artist, a piece of art that we have around the cellar or just something that we love and then find a way to make it all work together. “

Memorable moments won’t end with art-themed events, as Liquidity will also be offering brunch all winter long. The premiere will take place on Friday November 12 and will continue on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Two-course brunches will feature sweet and savory dishes paired with wine, and samosas, of course, will be on the menu.

Another reason to visit Liquidity during the cool days of November and December is the wine itself. Liquidity is bringing back a limited number of vintage wines as part of bundles that will make the perfect holiday gifts, and will also feature wine magnums.

“It’s perfect for the holidays, when you have a group of people,” says winemaker Amy Paynter of the 1.5-liter magnums. “There is something very elegant and fancy about a magnum.”
