186 packages from the United States and Canada were seized | Ahmedabad News
Ahmedabad: Agents of the Ahmedabad Rural Police investigating the Bopal drug case, in which a Satellite man, Vandit Patel, was arrested, said they ordered 186 packages containing drugs, weighing 32 kg, that Patel had ordered from the United States and Canada, which were seized by customs.
The packages were sent by four citizens of Canada and two of the United States, about which an investigation is underway.
Ahmedabad Rural Police officers said the packages seized contained drugs such as hybrid cannabis, methamphetamine, MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, and other narcotic and mind-altering substances.
“The senders of these packages were Albert Fischer, Castle Studio, the O’Neil family and Pen Field Consultancy Group of Canada and Barry Golden and Day Lilly of the United States,” said an officer.
The police have started the process of picking up the packages at customs.
Patel was to send the drugs from these packages to other people in cities such as Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Vapi, Amreli, Rajkot, Kheda, Mehsana, Vyara and Valsad.
Patel, who ran a salon in Bopal, who was arrested on November 16 for possession and delivery of drugs.
Police said Patel also organized rave parties in Mumbai and Delhi and peddled drugs such as MD and cocaine.
Police said Patel also sent drug packages to his friends in Shanghai and Auckland.
He used to have drugs delivered to closed offices, paan shops or tea stands to escape the police.
Besides him, three other people were arrested by the police in this case.
